Firefly’s the kind of festival that requires intimacy and seclusion to work its wonder. Tucked away behind a forest in Herefordshire, the Firefly Festival is a small affair with live music, a bonfire (weather permitting), a pub and some sofas, all placed out in a clearing in a beautiful patch of countryside.

Less grandiose and more quaint, Firefly will again play host to a day’s worth of niche group talented artists yet to claim fame. Personally the entire line-up are new discoveries for me, but that’s just increased my anticipatory excitement for the weekend to come.

A bit of research and some link-finding later, and below is a list of the artists I’ll be dancing along to, with their works attached (click the images to open good music in new tabs):

Sophie Scott

Katie Emma

The Night

Tom Bradley

The Colour Movement

Carousel

Bruno Charles

The Wild Mercury Sound

Kyla La Grange

Gentle Mystics

MONSTA

There are some very strong solo artists on the list, along with a few intense bands that’ll no doubt light up the stage and a couple of DJ sets to round out the night.

If the storms do come, Firefly may succumb to the Glastonbury effect, but either way the day should be a great one. Check out the gallery for photos from previous years if you’d like an idea of what it should look like with the weather this time of year should have!
